Beneficial credit lines from Standard Chartered
If you're looking to manage your finances and get a better cash flow, Standard Chartered can assist you with their flexible credit lines.
We already mentioned a couple of the credit lines above namely the FlexiPay Plus and Balance Transfer Plus. To recap, you can stretch the payment of an item into flexible instalments with low interest via the FlexiPay Plus program. Meanwhile, for the latter program, you can transfer your credit card debt from other banks to a new Standard Chartered credit card with a lower interest rate over longer repayment tenures.
Other than those two, you can also enjoy other credit lines that are as beneficial such as the following list.
- Easy-Payment-Scheme: You can convert items into a 0% easy payment scheme over flexible tenures only with selected merchants such as Machines, Harvey Norman, Poh Kong and many more.
- Cash-On-Call Plus: You can get extra cash at hand from your credit card with a fixed interest rate of 9.88% p.a. for up to 60 months.
- Automatic Balance Conversion: It’s a by-invitation-only program where you’re able to pay off your credit card outstanding balance with much lower interest over a longer instalment period.
Mastercard e-commerce purchase protection
This is a special feature to benefit from for Simply Cash Credit Card holders. If you tend to shop online internationally, you can get your items covered up to USD200. This protection plan is offered by AIG Malaysia Insurance Berhad for the following occurrences. You can find more details of this benefit in the T&C here.
- Non-delivery and/or incomplete delivery of goods and shipping charges (applicable within 30 days of the scheduled delivery)
- Improper functioning/physical damage of the goods
What happens if I do not make a repayment on time?
There will be a finance charge incurred on the outstanding credit card balance that is overdue. This finance charge, ranging from a minimum of 15% per annum to a maximum of 18% per annum, is tiered based on the user's repayment behaviour in the last 12 months.
See the table below for reference:
Annual Rate | Condition |
15% | Cardmembers who promptly settle their Minimum Monthly Payment due for 12 consecutive months. |
17% | Cardmembers who promptly settle their Minimum Monthly Payment due for 10/11 months in the last 12 consecutive months. |
18% | Cardmembers who make 9 months or less prompt payments of their Minimum Monthly Payment in the last 12 consecutive months. |
For example, if within 12 months from the card approval date you have missed 3 credit card repayments consecutively, an 18% per annum finance charge will be levied on the credit card outstanding balance.
After you have managed to consistently repay your credit card outstanding balance promptly and in full for 12 consecutive months, the finance charge will default to the minimum.
