What is i-Protect Plus?
The i-Protect Plus is a pure protection plan against five critical illnesses namely Cancer, Stroke, Heart Attack, Kidney Failure and Coronary Artery By-Pass Surgery offered by FWD Insurance. It is a non-participating coverage plan that comes with an automatic yearly renewal benefit.
Why should I choose this critical illness plan?
You should choose i-Protect Plus to cover you in the form of financial assistance in the event you have been diagnosed with any of the five critical illnesses mentioned above.
This is because this plan will give you 100% of the Basic Sum Assured to you, in a lump sum, as the policyholder. After which, the policy will be terminated. With that, you can solely focus on your recovery without having to worry about hospital bills.
Because let’s face it, hospital bills nowadays, especially private ones, are costly. Not to mention the treatments for these critical illnesses. The bills when combined, aren’t exactly pocket-friendly. While you may already have some savings for unexpected emergencies, it is better to have a protection plan such as i-Protect Plus to cover you.
What’s more, you can simply subscribe to FWD Insurance i-Protect Plus online, unlike most of the protection plans out there where you have to make an appointment with the agents. For individuals who tend to find that time isn’t on their side, signing up for i-Protect Plus is rather feasible while you go about your day as usual.
What is the coverage amount?
Firstly, there are three plans being offered to you and each of these plans comes with a different coverage amount. They are Plan A with a basic sum assured of RM100,000, Plan B with RM300,000 as the basic sum assured and Plan C with the highest sum assured of RM500,000.
Plan A: RM100,000
Plan B: RM300,000
Plan C: RM500,000
All of these plans provide you coverage for five critical illnesses namely Stroke, Cancer, Heart Attack, Kidney Failure as well as Coronary Artery By-Pass Surgery.
How much premium do I have to pay?
The amount of premiums you have to pay is dependent on the plan that you choose, including your age at the time of purchase or plan renewal. You can find the list of premiums payable in the Product Disclosure Sheet.
Are there any fees or charges that I should take note of?
No. You do not have to pay fees or charges upon subscribing to i-Protect Plus.

How do I make a claim?
There are two ways you can make a claim with FWD Insurance. Firstly, you can call them at 1-300-22-6262 (Toll-free) or 03-2298-0088 (Direct line) or follow the simple steps below.
Step 1: Check your policy
- Find out if you are covered for the event you are intending to make a claim for
Step 2: Check your payment records
- Make sure your policy is still active
Step 3: Check in with FWD Insurance
- Notify them immediately either via call or visit the nearest branch to you
Can I cancel my policy?
Yes, you can. How it works is that upon receiving your Policy Contract, you have a free-look period of 15 days. You may request to cancel your policy by notifying FWD Insurance within the given period of days from the delivery date. And if they received your policy within that said period, you’re entitled to a refund of the premium paid, without interest.
However, if you cancel your Policy Contract after the period of 15 days from the delivery date, your policy will be terminated on the next premium due date, without any refund of the premium paid.
And because this is a pure protection plan and not a savings plan, there will be no cash value upon surrender or termination of the Policy Contract.
