More Information

What is Prudential PRUsenior med Medical Card?

Prudential PRUsenior med is medical insurance for seniors which also provides extra death benefits of RM5000.

Unlike most medical cards which are riders attached to another insurance policy, this Prudential medical card is a standalone policy.

What kind of protection do I get from this medical insurance?

This medical insurance includes pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation, home nursing care, outpatient cancer and kidney dialysis treatment, and hospital room and board of RM200 for a maximum of 120 days a year.

You’ll only have to pay 10% of your total eligible expenses or the minimum co-insurance amount of your plan, depending on which is higher.

Prudential PRUsenior med  medical card offers two plans with a minimum co-insurance amount of RM3,000 and RM6,000 which is applicable for Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Fees, Anaesthetist Fees, In-hospital & Related services benefits.

Your lifetime limit under this plan is RM225,000.

How long can I stay in a Prudential panel hospital?

The Prudential medical card will pay RM200 every day for your hospital stay and all other charges for up to 120 days.

If you've been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you'll be covered for up to 30 days, subject to your lifetime limit and 10% co-insurance payment.

Can I make claims to Prudential Malaysia if I'm hospitalised overseas?

For any medical treatment overseas, your benefits will be paid based on rates for similar treatment at a Malaysian hospital.

However, you will only be eligible if your trip does not extend beyond 90 days.

How much are my Prudential medical card premiums?

Prudential Malaysia will determine your medical card premium rates based on factors such as your age, sex and medical history.

These rates will also change significantly based on the plan that you choose. You’ll also pay level premiums for this medical insurance policy.

Any fees if I miss my medical insurance payments?

If you do pay your medical insurance premiums within the one month grace period your policy will be terminated.

For policies that have accumulated cash value, Prudential will deduct your premium payments from your policy’s cash value.

Your Prudential medical card policy will only have cash value after you have paid your premiums for 3 years. Once your premium payments exceed the cash value, your policy will be terminated.
