More Information

What is the QBE MEDI Charge Cover?

QBE MEDI Charge Cover is a medical insurance coverage meant to help supplement your income when you need to pay hospital bills and are looking to get some sort of medical treatment.

The QBE medical insurance comes with extensive coverage and protection as and when you need it with hassle-free claims and a deductible of up to RM5000.

What does the medical insurance policy cover?

Well much like other medical insurance policies, this medical insurance will offer you financial coverage for room and board, all diagnostic and specialist tests and consultation, as well as the use of all hospital equipment.

That includes surgical fees, anaesthetic fees and the use of the ICU. So, rest assured, when you need it, the insurance will work in your favour.

Other than hospital charges, this policy also looks out for you, should you need outpatient care for a serious illness, injury or surgery.

It will cover outpatient kidney dialysis treatment, which is usually a regular occurrence in kidney patients as well as outpatient cancer treatment.

These are both long-term treatment programmes and can be strenuous on anyone’s budget, so having it be covered by an insurance policy should be helpful.

Since this is one of the more comprehensive covers offered by QBE, you will have emergency dental care should you find yourself in a situation where you require reconstructive dental surgery.

Apart from that, the medical insurance offered coverage or benefits for organ transplants in case you are one of the more severe cases.

And not to worry, these major surgeries can be taxing and sometimes you will require additional care, which is why with the policy you will have access to post-hospitalisation care and home nursing should the need arise.

How much premium do I have to pay?

Unfortunately, QBE does not actively display their premium rates, therefore you will need to have a sit down with either an insurance representative or agent from QBE to find out your customized premium.

Your medical card premium calculation will be based on a number of factors, including your age, financial situation and more importantly your health.

Therefore, remember that your premium rates may differ to other people simply because you are an individual and the rates are made to suit your needs and capabilities.

Who can apply for a QBE MEDI Charge Cover?

Since the QBE MEDI Charge Cover is an individual policy, anyone over the age of 18 can apply for it, however, that doesn’t mean you can’t purchase independent plans for your children as well.

If you are a parent going down that route then your child will need to be over the age of 30 days old to be eligible.

The maximum entry age for this medical insurance is 60 years old and if you have already had the policy before then, you can continue to renew it till your 65th birthday.
